Happy Turkey Day

For those in America. Those of you outside of US, happy November 23rd.

I unfortunately have to work tonight, so instead of celebrating Thanksgiving, I’ll be watching others celebrate. Let’s hope not too many let the festivities get out of hand.

Feel free to post your own happy turkey day message here. Would love to hear from you guys.

One Month

Thirty one ditties. Thirty one blurbs. Thirty one tabs.

And I’ll keep on going. With any luck the site will be more popular and maybe I’ll make some christmas money off my mediocre guitar skills and halfway decent computer skills. So far with the money I’ve made I can totally afford to buy some guitar picks.

I should probably do something, this post should probably be special.

Ohh well you’ll have to settle with this cute picture of some random baby that’s also one month old.

ffmpeg Strikes Again

For the past two days I’ve been working non stop to get ffmpeg up and running again. Two days ago I was going to record some more and convert. When I went to log into my friends machine I found it was dead. A few AOLIM messages later and I realize I’m in trouble.

I got it to work once.. I can get it to work again right?

I first tried smooching again, but not many of my friends have linux machines and those that do aren’t set up for this kind of work. So I tried compiling on windows in a *nix environment so I can get my vhooks (the onedittyaday.com in the corner that I know you guys love.) That didn’t work a bit, so I tried live linux CD’s and getting it to work on my webhost (no audio love there.)

So I installed VMware and set up RedHat on a VM. After about eight hours of install hell I get it up and running. I spend another four hours getting ffmpeg to install. And I convert away. Then I try my pretty vhooks.

Of course I need some wierd dependency which takes another half hour, then everythings looking pretty and I’m tweaking it all out to get it to look just right. When VMware dies.

I reboot. VMware seems dead but somehow it comes back to life eventually. I copy over my files and convert. I go to upload them to the webserver when I notice the network connection isn’t working.

I reboot again. Everything looks in order. I cross my fingers. I upload. Ahhh.

And notice the pretty pictures on the video now :)

Happy Halloween

I had wanted to do some sort of eerie sounding scale or lick. But I just couldn’t come up with anything good. So instead I offer some links to some great Halloween paper craft. And how about a movie? Check out Night of the Living Dead for free and completely legal. And finally, check out these pumpkin patterns.
