The story: Lead singer Chad Kroeger was having trouble coming up with a name, and so approached his brother, who worked at a Starbucks. Coffee was $1.95, which meant every customer who paid two bucks got—waiiiit for it—a nickel back. (It was either that or We’re Sorry About the Homeless Man Shooting Up in the Bathroom.)

Came across this awhile back, it’s a month or so old but I think it’s still good stuff. Australia’s Herald Sun interviews Trent Reznor. In it he talks about how even though he pays for the extra marketing efforts out of his pocket, the record label still increases the price to you. Of course your a NIN freak so you’ll buy anything not matter what the price.

Mashable brings us word of what they think are the twelve best music social sites. They don’t mention YouTube and only MySpace in passing. Some good sites, most I’ve never heard of.
