Excellent Anti-DRM Ad

Found this on digg. Makes a good point for interchangeability between devices. I’m quite against DRM. While I’m all for copyright protection for artists I don’t think DRM is the way to do it. I think the recording industries sat on their duffs while thinking CD’s were ‘it’. Meanwhile young geeks were spending their time transfering their albums to MP3’s. If the recording industry had jumped on the digital music bandwagon a decade ago I think it would have a lot less problems. Enough of my rambling though, enjoy the commercial.

Happy Halloween

Check out Night of the Living Dead for free and completely legal. And finally, check out these pumpkin patterns.

Awesome Cover of Outkast’s Hey Ya

Mat Weddle from the local band Obadiah Parker doing an excellent cover of Outkast’s Hey Ya.

We have a local guy around here who does a cover of this song as well. He has some sort of device hooked up to his guitar and he records a background and rhythm track real quick. Then he plays these back looped and follows along with vocals and lead. His entire show was like that, a regular one man band. Drinks must have been cheap that night because I don’t remember his name.

I really thought about doing this up as a ditty. It is a little cheap though not recording or writing it. I guess you guys just get a freebie.
